AGM Abogados hosts the 2025 SCG Legal Mid Term Meeting in Barcelona

AGM Abogados had the honour of hosting the 2025 SCG Legal Mid Term Meeting, a global network of law firms of which it has been a member since late 2022. The conference, held in Barcelona from 14 to 17 May, brought together over 150 participants from around the world, including more than 55 member firms from over 35 countries, as well as representatives from a third of the United States.

The event took place at the Intercontinental Hotel Barcelona and featured a series of presentations and panel discussions on key legal topics. Several AGM professionals participated as speakers in the following panels:

• Global litigation: Emerging trends, challenges and client stratregies, with Sergio López Ejarque, Partner in the Litigation and Arbitration department at AGM Abogados.
• A new decade of supercomputing, presented by Josep Maria Martorell of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, and moderated by Guillermo Bayas Fernández, Head of International and Partner in the Litigation and Arbitration department at AGM Abogados.
• Preparing for AI: Practical considerations for law firms and clients, with Vanesa Alarcón Caparrós, Partner in the TMT & IP department at AGM Abogados.
• M&A panel: Navigating opportunities in a shifting market, with Alex Carbonell Real-Salas, Partner in the M&A department at AGM Abogados.
• Employment law in a changing world: Adapting to new realities and emerging risks, with María Royo Codesal, Partner in the Labour Law department at AGM Abogados.
• Shifting ESG priorities: Regulatory compliance and sustainability in a changing landscape, with Marta Salvador Mateo, Head of ESG – Regulatory Compliance and Sustainability at AGM Abogados.

In addition to the panels, various social activities were organised, including a cocktail reception on the terrace of AGM Abogados’ offices and a gala dinner at El Palace Hotel Barcelona, featuring a flamenco performance. Attendees also had the opportunity to visit the Torres Wineries for a wine tasting experience. Many AGM professionals took part in these activities, helping to strengthen professional ties and encourage cultural exchange among participants.
