AGM Abogados is pleased to announce the incorporation of Alex Carbonell Real-Salas as a new partner in the Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and Commercial and Corporate practice of the firm.
With over 20 years of professional experience, Alex Carbonell holds a degree in Law and a Master’s in Business and Tax Law from ESADE University. In addition, he has pursued studies at the Academy of American and International Law in the United States, specialising in International and Comparative Law.
He began his professional career with a Leonardo grant from the European Union at Haarman Hemmelrath & Partner in Germany. Later, he joined Gómez-Acebo & Pombo Abogados, where he developed an extensive career in the corporate, real estate, and financial departments at the Madrid and Barcelona offices. During his time at the firm, he reached the position of Partner in the Commercial Department.
Alex now joins the Transactions, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Corporate team at AGM Abogados in the Barcelona office.

With extensive experience, Carbonell has advised clients in processes of mergers, acquisitions, corporate restructurings, foreign investments in Spain and Spanish companies abroad, as well as in complex financing and commercial contracts. Additionally, he has worked with companies in key sectors such as venture capital, private equity, retail, new technologies, financial services and fintech, automotive, pharmaceutical, and real estate.

Throughout his career, Alex has continually pursued further education, participating as a speaker in national and international legal seminars and conferences. He is currently an Associate Professor at the ESADE Law School, specialising in International Business Law.
He has also been a member of the Executive Committee of AIJA (International Association of Young Lawyers) and Chairman of its Banking, Capital Markets, and Insurance Committee. Additionally, he has served as a non-director secretary in various companies and organisations.
