AGM Abogados takes a strategic step forward in its expansion with a new office in Mexico

As part of its internationalisation strategy and with the aim of providing a legal bridge between Europe and Latin America, Spanish law firm AGM Abogados, with nearly four decades of experience, has opened its first office in Mexico, which will serve as the headquarters of the firm’s Latam Desk.

This new opening strengthens the global positioning of the firm, which already has offices in Barcelona and Madrid, as well as various international desks, such as the French Desk and the Asian Desk. In addition, AGM is a member of SCG Legal, an international network comprising more than 120 independent law firms worldwide.

The Mexico City office has been established to support clients in their internationalisation processes, acting as a link between the two continents. Rather than competing with the local market, the firm aims to create synergies with local law firms. The focus will be on entrepreneurs and institutions based in Mexico and Latin America seeking to start a business, invest or establish a presence in Spain and Europe, as well as on Spanish companies with interests in Mexico and Latin America.

From this new location, AGM will provide close, locally based support, operating within the same time zone, and offering a comprehensive legal approach with an international outlook—backed by its network of local partners and multidisciplinary team.

A legal bridge between Spain and Latin America

The new office in Mexico City has been established with a clear service-oriented mission and cross-border legal focus. With a local team and international leadership, the office aims to facilitate the increasing flow of investment, trade, and business mobility between both sides of the Atlantic.

This expansion is a natural step in the growth of AGM Abogados’ international services. Mexico is a key economy in Latin America, with strategic sectors such as technology, energy, real estate, and infrastructure, where the firm sees significant opportunities for its European clients, both in terms of investment and business expansion.

Julio Menchaca to lead the project

The new office will be headed by Julio Menchaca Vite, a Mexican lawyer qualified to practise in both Mexico and Spain, with extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, and international legal advice—particularly assisting Latin American companies seeking to expand into Spain.

By relocating to Mexico, Julio will be responsible for launching the office and strengthening the network of local partners.
